Podcaster Google Hangout!

Podcaster Google Hangout!

On Saturday afternoon, I joined two of my favorite podcasters, Amanda from Craftlife and Martine from iMake for a Google Hangout.  Amanda graciously invited us and coordinated the entire experience.  Below is the recording of our lively discussion if you missed it!  Remember, we also have some giveaways:

Email me at themarketvegan (at) gmail (dot) com before Saturday, July 28th at 3 p.m. to win either a copy of my vegan cookbook The Market Vegan or a copy of Living Vegan for Dummies, a great resource if your either considering a plant based diet or are just vegan curious!

Martine is giving away two craft books, One Hour Craft, and Fabric Jewelry. Email Martine at info (at) imake (dot) gg   before 8 p.m. next Saturday (Guernsey time) to be entered to win one of her giveaways!

Amanda is giving away a summer copy of Jane Austen Knits Summer 2012 as well as 2 free patterns from ravelry (very generous).  You can email her at treacleandink (at) hotmail (dot) com before next Saturday at 2 p.m. Central time.

I was very neglectful and took no notes whatsoever, so you’ll have to watch the hangout to hear all about what we’re knitting, why we podcast, how we choose our yarn, what we love about social media, why so many podcasters are teachers, why I should invest in a really nifty showball microphone, and lots of other great podcaster chat! (You can also find Amanda’s accurate show notes on the youtube page here.) (Note the video below may take a moment to load if you view this directly from my website – the file is currently hosted on Dropbox.)

UPDATE: Meghan D. & Julie S. were the winners of my giveaways for first podcaster hangout! Look for more giveaways during the September hangout coming the second weekend in September!

Love your podcast (and I’m picky about who I listen to). Thanks for the tip on ECWID. Just set it up for our 2013 Calendar of Hope. I’d just about given up on having a shopping cart for the calendar until I tried ECWID.

Thanks for the kind words! I talk about G+ and Quora in the newest podcast, and based on feedback, I think a tech section will be a regular part of the podcast from now on. After all, the entire reason I was able to produce a podcast was because I already knew the tech! If there’s anything you’d be particularly interested in learning about, let me know. I’ll probably touch on ecwid again since I’ve gotten so many comments about it!

I’d like a technical section. Your podcast has a lot of good info. I like to learn things. Yeah, I want to know what’s on your needles but everyone has something on their needles. I’m going on vacation and hope to catch up on past episodes. Thank you again. And check out our calendar at http://www.fitterknitter.com. It’s our 5th year and all the proceeds (except the paypal fees) go to http://www.armyofwomen.org whose trying to find out WHY we get breast cancer. I’d sure like to know why I got it (4-year survivor). The calendar is my way of giving back. Thanks again.

I never thought of it that way, but it’s true, everyone does have something on their needles (unless they lose their mojo for a few like I did last week). I’m a novice knitter but a professional techie (since the 80s, so sad).

My mother is a survivor – I will check out your calendar (and perhaps mention on the podcast).

A podcast mention would be great! Thank you.
I’m a techie too. Been using the Mac since 1986 and was “forced” to use the PC last year for my job which turned out not to be so bad. Not a lot of difference now. It’s just that I know how to fix a Mac if something goes wrong.
